Meet Our Pastor: Dr Jonathan Hackett

A prolific writer once said that “Not all dreamers are winners, but all winners are dreamers”. Our dream is the key to your future, as the Bible instructs us that “without a vison (dream) a people perish” – Proverbs 29:18. You need a dream if you’re going to succeed in anything in life.
Dr. Jonathan Hackett, Pastor and Founder of the Prosperous Temple COGIC located in Northport, AL, is a native of Long Island New York, but currently resides in Alabama.
Over thirty years ago to date, he met and married his high school sweetheart Evangelist Tasha Hackett, whom he says, “is the best part of me”. Through their union, they were blessed to have three wonderful children: 2 handsome sons, Juwan and Tyrell and a princess, Khmora.
The Hacketts believe that the best parents get promoted to grandparents, and in June (2021) they welcomed the newest member of their family, their first grandson, Xander Hackett.
Dr. Hackett has a strong desire to serve God and His people. He graduated from the O.M. Kelly Religious Institute, under the tutelage of Dr. Juliet White, wife of the late Bishop Frank Otha White. He attended Liberty University where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Religion, a Masters in Divinity & Christian Leadership, and a Doctorate of Ministry in Evangelism & Church Planting.
The Lord led Dr. Hackett to the book of Habakkuk 2:1-3. 1 “I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved. 2 And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. 3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.” This
passage of scripture propelled him to adhere to the call that was over his life. His initial trial sermon was on August 24, 2002. Several years later, the Lord spoke and said to Pastor Hackett, “Lead my people”, and out of obedience to the leading of the Lord, on March 1, 2009 the doors of Prosperous Temple were opened in Northport, AL to speak a word to God’s people, a word of deliverance, power and of a changed heart and mind.
The Lord is yet adding to the church daily. A generation that yearns to seek him. Great leaders have a vison that will inspire others and spur them on to help turn that vison into a reality. Dr. Hackett believes that we should create a vison for the life that we really want, and then work relentlessly towards making it a reality.
Meet the Fragrance of Our House: Lady Tasha Hackett

“Grace and Peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God and of Jesus Christ our Lord.”- 1st Lady Evangelist Tasha Hackett
Evangelist Tasha Hackett, First Lady of Prosperous Temple COGIC, is a native of Long Island, New York.
Over thirty years ago she met and married her best friend, The Reverend Dr. Jonathan Hackett. Amos 3:3 states, “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?”. Jesus sent his disciples out two by two for a reason. She has had the ability to work together in ministry with him while walking together as husband and wife following his lead. The ride has not been easy, and indeed there have been some stumbling blocks, but, what gives her great joy is knowing that there is an exponential increase in their effectiveness that is an essential ingredient which allows them to seek out goals that are God led to yield Godly results.
A great theologian once said, “the authority by which the Christian leader leads is not power but love, not force but example, not coercion but reasoned persuasion. Leaders do have power, but power is safe only in the hands of those who humble themselves to serve.” She is just that, a humble servant with great purpose, and that great purpose is to help others and to bring Glory to God.
Lady Hackett currently holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology as well as two Master’s Degrees, one in Human Services with a minor in Christian Counseling and the other in Public Health with a minor in Interdisciplinary Studies.
